About the procedure

Dermaplaning is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure aimed at promoting smoother and brighter skin. It involves the use of a sterile surgical blade to gently scrape off the top layer of dead skin cells and remove fine vellus hair, also known as peach fuzz, from the face. This exfoliation method leaves the skin surface very smooth, enabling skincare products to penetrate more deeply and makeup to apply more evenly. The procedure starts with a clean, dry face, followed by careful stroking of the blade in a particular direction to remove the dead skin cells and hair.
It's generally painless and doesn't require any downtime, although the skin may be slightly pink immediately afterwards. Dermaplaning can help reduce the appearance of acne scars, fine lines, and hyperpigmentation, and can also make the skin look more youthful and glowing. The removal of peach fuzz can result in a smoother texture and fresher-looking skin, although it does not cause the hair to grow back thicker or darker.
Although dermaplaning is suitable for most skin types, it's not recommended for those with active acne outbreaks or a large amount of thick facial hair. As with all cosmetic procedures, it's recommended to consult with a professional to understand the process, aftercare, and any potential contraindications.
